"...to provide compassionate support to individuals and families needing assistance"
Child Learning Center PDF Print E-mail

The purpose of the Child Learning Center is to provide a quality learning program for children whose parents cannot afford commercial day care. CONCERN is the only day care center in Washington County where the fees are determined by the parents' ability to pay. This takes into account family income, size, and other financial factors. Other support for the Center comes from donations, volunteers, and government contracts (school lunch program and Title 19).

ImageMany of the parents who bring their children to the Center are single parents. In families where the father is absent, the assistance we provide is virtually the only way mothers who want to support their families can be helped off welfare. The boost we give such families during the children's pre-school years has a far-reaching impact.

Our goal is to help each child reach his or her full potential through a variety of stimulating and challenging activities in a Christian atmosphere. The Center offers a program of small learning groups, informal play, and field trips. It is a program based on the objective of helping children become all that they can be and, in the process, become stronger members of the next generation.

The CONCERN Child Learning Center is now open 6AM to 6PM Monday through Friday. It accepts children from 6 weeks though 8 years of age.
